Bohemia Releases Huge DayZ: Badlands Expansion

Bohemia Interactive has launched DayZ: Badlands. Said to be the largest expansion to date, Badlands features a massive new map, new threats and much more.

Nasdara Map and Extreme Weather

This new map is the largest yet, spanning 267 km². The previous largest map, for comparison, was Chernarus at 225 km². So with a whole lot more space to explore, there’s bound to be new threats to face.

Nasdara comes with new weather conditions, such as extreme heat, drought, and sandstorms, meaning players have to be much more conscious of their surroundings than before. This also means that water becomes a lot more important to survival, as players can also now use it to cool themselves down.

Rebuilding Structures

A unique new feature to be added to DayZ: Badlands allows players to rebuild derelict structures around the map; these locations can then be used for shelter from the weather and zombies alike. Their conditions will vary between servers, so no single save file is the same, enticing players to explore more than ever before.

The developer has also stated that there will be more than 5000 different rebuildable structures for players to discover, ranging from ruined houses to wells and even entrances to irrigation tunnels, aiding in resource gathering.

Motorcycles, Underground Bunkers and More

This new expansion really does have a lot to offer, with a new vehicle type available: the motorcycle, underground tunnels to explore and hidden bunkers with valuable loot. Gaining entry to these bunkers presents a distinct challenge, as players will need to decode radio signals using Morse code that provide both coordinates and access codes that are needed to gain access.

There are also new regional weapons and gear, new wildlife, quality-of-life fixes and so much more to explore. DayZ: Badlands is out now on Xbox for £20.99, PlayStation for £19.99 and PC for £20.24 (which features a 10% launch discount).

Hi, I'm ChilledPixl, owner of PixlPerfect!

This website was created to provide a space for gamers to learn about the games they play, as well as find new titles that may have been missed, as well as deals and trailers.

A commitment that I will stand by is that we will offer entertaining news to any of our readers without any unnecessary or unwanted additions to articles. No clickbait, no bulk and certainly no fake posts.

I envisioned Pixl Perfect as a hub, providing as much content as possible that I could provide, whilst also being a community area and I hope to develop the latter down the line.

I absolutely love everything related to video games and thoroughly enjoy writing and decided to join them both together. I owned a previous site in the past, the Player Journal, with the foundations of that used to create Pixl Perfect.
