Moon Studios has released the latest episode of its Wicked Inside developer series for No Rest for the Wicked, taking a closer look at the new class system and other changes coming with the game’s 1.0 launch.
The game is currently in Early Access on PC via Steam, where it has more than 2 million players. Version 1.0 will launch on PC and PlayStation 5 in March 2027.
A New Class System
The attribute system that previously pushed players towards certain playstyles is being removed and in its place, simply picking up a weapon changes the player’s class, with 24 available. Traits can also be carried over from one class to another and with 362 traits across the classes, there’s plenty of room to mix and match. Moon’s examples include electrically charged spears that rain down like arrows, and stealth attacks that end a fight before it starts.
Factions and Cerim Cores
Players will be able to join one of six factions on Isola Sacra, including the assassins of the Severed Hand, the Sacrament Guard and the Unspoken. Each has its own questline, along with new traits, vendors and “some additional surprises”.

Cerim Cores cover how players endure rather than how they fight. They range from basic upgrades to health, stamina and focus, through to more unusual options like “Feral”, which increases attack speed, and “Crimson”, which grants lifesteal. There’s a catch, though: going over the capacity of the Cores means taking more damage from all attacks.
The Road to 1.0
Moon describes the 1.0 update as a big one, set to roughly double the size of the game. It brings new explorable zones, new enemy factions, new bosses, refinements to the loot system, combat upgrades and quality-of-life improvements. Making sure PlayStation 5 performance is as smooth as possible is also part of the work.
