Saber Interactive has officially announced its new upcoming update for World War Z, titled Viral State. It combines a paid DLC, with a batch of free features for the base game, bringing a tonne of new content for all types of players.
FLORIDA EPISODE DLC CAMPAIGN
The biggest part of the update is the Florida Episode DLC, a new campaign featuring three expansive maps based in Miami and Key West. Players will find themselves fighting through hordes of Zekes in abandoned theme parks, bars and other holiday locations. Not only that, but there’ll also be access to four brand-new survivors to choose from: Val, Ceaser, Moe and Chris.
FREE WEAPONS AND CHALLENGE REWORK
Viral State also offers a lot of free additions for players to experience in World War Z. There are two new weapons being introduced: the Microgun, a heavy weapon, and the Dual Kama, a light melee weapon. Both of these come with their own perks and abilities. The daily challenge system is being overhauled, including a new timer, reworked UI and a reroll system.
COSMETICS, PRICING AND RELEASE
Alongside the above, there will also be an additional skin pack available, Premium Vacation Heat, which features four cosmetic skins for Hiroiji Okada, Eloise Durand, Angel Flores and Marine Leblanc.
The full World War Z Viral State update will launch on November 12th for PC, PlayStation and Xbox, with the Florida Episode DLC costing $9.99 on launch. Based on pricing of previous episodes, this should be £8.99.
