Dying Light 2 has released a new update, transforming Villedor into an even spookier place to be, with Día de los Muertos-inspired decorations and exclusive rewards as part of its Halloween Showdown.
HALLOWEEN SHOWDOWN 2026
Players will find the world of Dying Light 2 transformed for the next three weeks. Running until November 16th, this whole event is based entirely around monster rivalries and player choice. Each week, two Halloween creatures will face off in an in-game event, with players making contributions towards their preferred monster and earning themed rewards.
Once a community goal has been reached, players who contributed at least 10 Showdown Candies will receive a weapon reward and if both weapon goals are reached, players can earn the two main rewards. At the end of each week, the monster with the most contributed candies wins the vote, and their charm can be claimed through the Pilgrim Outpost.
SPECIAL ENCOUNTERS AND EVENT SHOP
Featured enemies will also begin to emerge and appear in certain encounters. They are the week’s main target and defeating these monsters earns players both Halloween Candies and Showdown Candies.
The Halloween Candies can be spent at Baka’s Event Shop, while the Showdown Candies can be spent at Baka’s to support either side of the above weekly match-up. After donating 10 Showdown Candies to one of the factions, players receive an immediate reward of 500 Halloween Candies in-game just for participating, with a maximum of 1,000 to be earned each week.
There have also been some general updates to the base game, updating certain visuals, bug fixes and some quality-of-life fixes too.
