Gray Zone Warfare Launches Huge Rogue Ops Update

Madfinger Games has released Rogue Ops, the fourth major update for Gray Zone Warfare. This also marks the game’s move from pre-alpha to alpha and the studio says it adds a new gameplay loop built around player choice, progression and risk versus reward.

The Hideout, Smuggling and Hunting

The centrepiece of the update is the Hideout, a personal base where players can make medical supplies, produce illegal substances, process sensitive military technology and craft specialised equipment. Anything made can be sold straight to vendors, or carried across Lamang as contraband for much bigger rewards but at a greater risk.

The new Smuggling and Hunting activities add the high-stakes side of this. Smugglers have to deliver valuable cargo to set locations while rival mercenaries try to intercept it and claim it for themselves. Both activities are also available in PvE.

New Locations, Weapons and Characters

Lamang has gained three high-difficulty locations: an abandoned psychiatric institution, a military research facility and a radio observatory, with more than 15 smaller locations also dotted around. Players can get their hands on seven new firearms, hundreds of weapon parts and additional equipment.

Rogue Ops also introduces the ability to have multiple playable characters available to use at any time. The update also brings the Gray Zone Warfare’s first soft wipe, which resets equipment and currency while preserving player progression.

Improvements and Technical Changes

Other than the above, there have been improvements to NPC behaviour, animations, audio, combat and the health system, all whilst the game has also transitioned to Unreal Engine 5.7.

To celebrate the release of Rogue Ops, there is a Twitch Drops campaign running until November 6th, offering exclusive rewards and in-game supplies. Gray Zone Warfare is also on offer for £22.74, featuring a 35% discount until November 5th.

Hi, I'm ChilledPixl, owner of PixlPerfect!

This website was created to provide a space for gamers to learn about the games they play, as well as find new titles that may have been missed, as well as deals and trailers.

A commitment that I will stand by is that we will offer entertaining news to any of our readers without any unnecessary or unwanted additions to articles. No clickbait, no bulk and certainly no fake posts.

I envisioned Pixl Perfect as a hub, providing as much content as possible that I could provide, whilst also being a community area and I hope to develop the latter down the line.

I absolutely love everything related to video games and thoroughly enjoy writing and decided to join them both together. I owned a previous site in the past, the Player Journal, with the foundations of that used to create Pixl Perfect.
