World of Warcraft will soon be releasing the first major content update for the Midnight expansion on August 11th. Patch 12.1, titled Curse of Ula’tek, continues the Midnight story, whilst also introducing new activities, a zone, a raid, quests and more.
The Coiled Isle is the latest addition to the WoW map, with the island being off the east coast of Zul’Aman. There’ll be a host of new activities to complete in the new area, including the Vaults of Atal’Utek, which houses rotating public events and a custom talent tree with power and quality of life perks.
Lairs are a brand-new mechanic to World of Warcraft. They are an “evolution” to world bosses but are in an instanced encounter with scalable difficulty. Players can solo queue into these, as the boss scales between 5-40 players; however, they are also available for pre-made groups on Normal, Heroic and Mythic 15-25 difficulties. Nymrissa Wavecaller is the first boss from these lairs, with a bunch of loot to earn and a few achievements to unlock.
The Altar of Fangs dungeon will be available at Mythic 0 difficulty on launch, with it joining the Mythic+ rotation a week after launch during Midnight Season 2, alongside the new Venomous Abyss Raid.
