Last week, Red Barrels The Outlast Trials 7.1, introducing a new limited-time event and more.
Chemical Leak is the title of said event and it does exactly what it sounds like on the tin. Trial environments have now been flooded with toxic gas and players will be required to find valves to shut them off before suffocating. This looks to act as a type of new difficulty modifier and will punish anyone who likes to take their time inside the trials.
To go alongside this event, there’s also a new catalog that will run for the duration of the event. It features exclusive rewards, such as player outfits, cell items, rig customisation and more. As a pre-warning, all earned event tokens will be removed when the event ends, so make sure they are spent.
Lastly, there are two new MK-Challenges:
- CHANGE THE PROGRAM – “You are the crier, who knows that news does not have to be journalism, it only has to be new. Spread our truth, change the program, and we will let you out.”
- FUND THE CAMPAIGN – “You are the hammer in the hands of a child, to shatter the fragile swine who would separate success from the government it created. Money is the future of speech. Fund the campaign and we will let you out.”
