Path of Exile Reveals Huge Curse of the Allflame Expansion

The Curse of the Allflame free expansion is set to launch on July 24th for Path of Exile. It introduces a wealth of content, including the ability to explore the ocean floor for forgotten treasure.

On board The Sovereign with Captain Valerie and Navigator Vesper, players will be able to embark on expeditions to the ocean floor. Stepping into the Bathysphere, survival will depend on placing Allflame Lanterns in strategic positions, which act as a barrier from the ocean itself and creatures that despise the light, with these lanterns fading over time.

As these expeditions are completed, new charts are finalised and nine of them can be put together to create one joint voyage. These single charts are seen as modifiers that can affect the expedition itself, such as turning equipment drops into gold or empowering monsters. On top of this, special variations of these charts can also reveal unique areas under the sea that could lead to even more treasure.

Dead Man’s Sulphur can be harvested from coral under the waves, which can be used in a new crafting system onboard The Sovereign. It allows a single item to be split into three potential outcomes and the ability to choose one of these.

The Curse of the Allflame expansion also introduces some other additions, such as the return of the Mercenaries of Trarthus and a rework of the Abyss and Legion.
