The first free major content update has been released for Outbound and it’s simply titled the Fishing Update.
Being the next title in a long line to introduce fishing into their game, Outbound introduces the ability to craft three different tiers of fishing rods. Each one of these are required to be able to fish in multiple areas. There’s a new fisherman’s hut that has been added in the first, second and fourth biomes.

There are 32 different types of fish to hunt, scattered amongst the different biomes that the game has on offer, along with a journal page to be able to track what has been caught. Fish can be placed inside new buildable fish tanks, so they can live happily inside your base at all times. Just pointing it out, these fish are not to eat!
After this addition, the Outbound roadmap is targeting more wildlife in the fall, with the “big NPC update” following in the winter. Outbound is available on PC, PS5, Xbox Series and Nintendo Switch.
