Nioh 3 Reveals First Major Content DLC Expansion

Team Ninja has announced the first DLC for Nioh 3, titled Hell Rising, that’ll release on August 19th.

It’ll transport players to the Keian era, specifically to Edo during 1651. The town has been plunged into chaos, following the death of a future Takechiyo and you’ll be tasked with restoring peace alongside the swordsman Yagyu Jubei and Spanish envoy, Rodrigo.

The hoko and shield have been added as new weapons for the Samurai and Ninja styles, both offering an extension to the current combat by adding new defensive, offensive and tactical moves. On top of this, a new equipment category, the Hundred Demon Realms Picture Scroll, will give players the ability to battle enemies associated with dropped scrolls to strengthen their special effects.

Lastly, the Enlightened One’s Journey is a new extreme difficulty that sees certain enemies granted a Curse buff to significantly empower them. On the other hand, these enemies will also drop divine-rarity items.

The Hell Rising DLC for Nioh 3 will launch on August 19th for PC and PS5.
