The sandbox hit, Necesse, has announced that its Rust & Romance update will be released on July 30th, alongside a free weekend promotion on Steam.
Being the biggest update to the game this year, this update introduces a new settler personality system. Settlers now react to things that go on around a player’s camp, such as dancing to music, with the ability for them to now be romanced. Giving one of them flowers will start a chain of quests that may (or may not) lead to love.
On the flip side, the update also includes the new Scrapyard Incursion. This is an endgame challenge with new enemies, mechanics and equipment. There’s also a new boss that will drop exclusive loot.
Other than the above, Necesse will also see an expansion to its biomes, new music/sound and also a reworked tutorial for new players.
