Bohemia Interactive has revealed that DayZ Badlands is due to launch in October 2026. Being the largest expansion in the game’s history, the Road to Badlands update is also out now.
One of the main gameplay features revealed for Badlands is rebuilding. Players will be able to restore ruined buildings across Nasdara, the new map for the expansion, and also alter them to turn them into bases, with the ability to install doors, windows, barricades, walls and more. There are said to be more than 5,000 of these specific rebuildable structures. Another feature being introduced in the expansion is the ability to add a pin code to bases. The lock will be powered by a battery and once this runs out, the lock will no longer be active.

In terms of the Road to Badlands update, it introduces a few features that are inspired by the upcoming expansion. The SCR-17 battle rifle has been added, as well as new optics, brass knuckles, military clothing and Nasdara military convoys with additional infected variants.
There will be more developer updates released leading up to the release of DayZ Badlands.
