Once Human Isles of Abyss

Once Human Reveals Huge Ocean Expansion

Once Human

Starry Studio has announced the largest free update to date for Once Human, taking players to the previously unexplored, uncharted ocean.

Launching on October 22nd across PC, mobile and consoles, the Isles of Abyss expansion introduces five distinct sea regions, as well as new survival mechanics and even buildable naval fortresses.

Isles of Abyss and The Sunken Lord

At the heart of these new islands is an awakening entity known as The Sunken Lord, one that has the ability to control the ocean and become one with it. These islands are dotted around an open ocean, with the ability to sail between them. Players will meet a new character, named Malla, who will offer assistance in the form of rules that will help navigate traps within the ocean, such as monstrosities disguised as lighthouses.

Going alongside the above, there are three layers of survival that all feed into each other – sailing across the dangerous sea surface, exploring mysterious islands and diving under the waves for treasure. Of course, each area will offer its own loot, enemies, resources and more, with a deep-sea final boss roaming around.

Naval Combat and Customisable Vessels

To effectively explore these new areas, players are able to build their own sea vessels, ranging from agile boats to massive fortresses, all being fully customisable and upgradable. Combat on the ocean will be played from the vessel deck, with artillery onboard that can be fired at will. This is a totally different style of gameplay to on-land, offering variance between the two.

There will be a tonne more content included in Once Human: Isles of Abyss once it launches in October. It’s currently in a testing phase.
