Apex Legends
Apex Legends has begun a brand new collaboration event, as Street Fighter 6 crashes into the Outlands until October 13th.
The Wildcard game mode now allows the selection of four distinct fighter gear kits: Ryu, Chun-Li, Akuma and Dhalsim. These kits all have their own passive, tactical and ultimate abilities.
- Ryu has fast movement, also boasting Hadokens for range and the Shin Skoryuken finisher uppercut.
- Chun-Li can wall-run with faster melee attacks, fire Kikoken projectiles and can lock down zones with a Kikosho blast.
- Akuma launches Gou Hadoken demo fireballs from range and can close the gap with the Shun Goku Satsu finisher.
- Dhalsim floats via low gravity and can control space with Yoga Teleport and also rain fire with Yoga Sunburst.
Tokens can be found around the map, which are used to fill your Fight Gauge, to which will eventually activate Fighter Form. This switches the gameplay to a third-person camera and grants stronger melee attacks, the ability to block, bonus speed and unlocks new skills. Survive long enough and the game enters Showdown, a final round that grants everyone infinite Fight Gauge, with downed players getting put straight back into the arena.
To go alongside this new mode, Olympus has had some Street Fighter 6 themed touch-ups. Luke’s Gym has the ability to enter the ring to activate Fighter Form, whilst Punch Trucks are scattered around for easy token collection. Apart from this, there will be giant statues, street art, balloons, arcade cabinets and more.
Outside of this mode, Zenny can be earned through normal play to spend in the new event Reward Shop, which includes the Li-Fen skin for Lifeline. There’s a new Hadoken Mythic melee cosmetic and alongside it are eight premium skins in the store: Chun-Li for Alter, Ryu for Sparrow, Akuma for Gibraltar, Cammy for Wattson, Blank for Caustic, Dhalsim for Pathfinder, Luke for Mirage and Elena for Bangalore.
The Apex Legends vs Street Fighter 6 event is out now and will run until October 13th.
