Shortly after its cinema debut on May 8th, the 4K steelbook of Mortal Kombat 2 is now available for pre-order. It features artwork on both sides of the book, with Shao Khan dominating the front and Kitana on the back. A release date has not been set as of yet.
The inside artwork showcases the fight between Kung Lao and Liu Kang, which you can see below. However, the only image currently available is from the US listing, hence the Walmart tag but the UK release should look identical.
MY SHORT TAKE ON MK2 (SPOILERS)
I went to see Mortal Kombat 2 in cinemas a week ago and thoroughly enjoyed it! I’ve played a couple of the mainline games and understand the premise of the story, but that’s about it for my kombat knowledge. It was campy fun and emulated the game very well overall. A great example of this is Shao Khan’s death, with it feeling straight ripped from one of the in-game finishers. It might well be, but I have no idea!
All of the featured characters were done perfectly, the fights were choreographed really well and the environments were awesome. I was unsure about the casting of Karl Urban as Johnny Cage at the start but he managed to grow on me extremely quickly. Also, Kano is hilarious.
