Two years since its initial launch, Seablip has shown no signs of slowing down in expanding its content. The Captain update, the game’s largest since release, doesn’t just add content. It introduces a whole new combat system, introducing a duelling mechanics that pits players face-to-face with rival captains.
The highlight of this update is the new Captain Duel system. It allows players to battle rival captains with a range of unique weapons, all featuring their own special abilities, whilst crew members assist with items and health. Enemies in the world can now challenge players to a Captain Duel instead of an ordinary ship fight. There’s also a new questline revolving around this new combat, pushing players to defeat 10 Galleon Guard bosses.

Full controller support has been added to Seablip, including a new HUD for navigation.
This update also introduces Enemy Fleet battles, which will force players to take down multiple ships one after the other without any pauses. However, Jardar, the solo developer, has flagged visual issues with this mode, with further refinement planned ahead of the 1.0 launch.
With 1.0 still on the horizon, Jardar is using the remaining Early Access period to meaningfully expand the game’s content.
